Sofie’s Pink Poodle Birthday

This year we wanted to do something different for Sofie’s birthday. She just turned 5 and is a very inquisitive girl so we wanted to give her an experience instead of just a party. 

We started her birthday celebration with a surprise mini-party at her school to celebrate with her friends and teachers.She knew she was going to have a birthday but we kept the details from her and    just said “We will see” whenever she asked for something for her birthday. The teachers were very gracious in allowing us to celebrate during snack time and even gave us time to prep the room where we can have her party. 

At first she wanted a Minnie Mouse Party, easy enough right? However, right about the time that we finished her DIY invites and bought some Minnie loot bag items, she changed her mind and wanted a Pink Poodle Party. Buti nalang Boy Scout and Girl Scout kami ni hubby. Always ready!

I’m having so much fun with printables right now, I found a pink poodle image online and did a  little magic with Photoshop. Here are some Pink Poodle stuff  I made for her party.

I prepared very simple lunch boxes sure to be appreciated by the preschoolers, some jello, fool-proof cheezy pasta (mac&cheese spin-off) and a cupcake with a poodle topper that looks more like a gay snowman. Heck, I’m not a professional but a DIY mom so I’ll forgive myself. 

Of course it’s never a party without games and entertainment, we set up a very simple game of Pin the Tail on the Poodle and did some balloon twisting. Who knew I had a knack for it. Last year, when we did her Angry Birds birthday Hubby and I did some magic tricks, this year we wanted to do some balloon twisting, so of course I ended up doing them and hubby took the photos to appease me. haha! andaya!

It was a very simple Pink Poodle party but the most important thing is that our daughter enjoyed every bit of it. Just seeing her eyes pop when she saw what we prepared, hearing her tell her classmates about how her mom made her cupcakes and proudly showing them her daddy is more than enough to make our hearts swell with joy. 

The second part of her birthday was celebrated on the day itself and we invited some friends and family to go with us on a mini-field trip to Mind Museum. More on that later, for now I have to prepare lunch 😉
